Selection State is a state in which we can select components like points, edges and primitives on top of that, we can also select objects or geometry containers in the viewport.

N Select All geometry
Shift + N Select No geometry

To access this list inside Houdini, make sure to be in Selection Mode and then press Right Mouse Button for selection context menu.
