- Hidden Search within File Browser which can be seen in bottom right corner (usd). If you click inside the file field and just start typing, you will start using hidden search…
- Using Scroll Wheel inside File field, will incrementally rise or lower the any last number value.
- RMB click over the Name field and check “Show Images” to see File images instead of icons.
- Click on the + sign while you have folder selected inside selection window to add selected folder as favorite.
- We can expand or simplify our file path if we click RMB over the Look in text, beside text field.
- With Scroll Wheel and MMB we can go over a menu list of elements without being forced to move our mouse. While with SW we can go up and down the list, with MMB we would confirm selection.
- Viewport gizmos are actually distance sensitive depending on the mouse cursor position when interacting with MMB
- Group Transferring for UV seams when mesh triangulated.
- When having geometry that will be mirrored at some point, its best to leave Object context Geo node in a 0, 0, 0 position and move mesh inside geo container around the planes. While having one single geometry, which is not going to be mirrored, the moving Geo Container on Obj level is more viable option as it makes both tasks easier to accomplish.
- Ability to isolate, and search for Materials bases on text or selection:
- When saving the files, which have numbers in the name, with the scroll wheel you can change the number increment. Its enough to hoover over the field and use the wheel.
- I love the ability to RM Click on any node in geo container and then quickly save to any format you like, like .fbx or .obj
- In the same way, we can export UV lines as a 2d map
- Use Scroll Wheel + Middle Mouse button in drop-down menus to scroll over the menu list items, then accept with MMB
- Radial Menu in Node Network (N)
- Group Selection within Selection Tool
- Shift + R to start Karma
- Use Shift + LMB in Tab node menu to select multiple nodes
- Use CTRL + PageUP/PageDown to change between panes. The same can be done with CTRL+Tab.
- Now this one, is a gold one I cannot live without anymore. I figured that if you bind PageUP/PageDown to your mouse Forward/Back, you can go over your node network from the viewport and other panes. This saves me so much time and clicking it's insane that SideFX doesn't talk about it at all. You can also use the Shift modifier to jump left and right too. That one doesn't always work as you would like, but it can work nicely in some cases.
